Just a quick update…

Mission Statement

My goal is to spread awareness about predatory attorneys who work for pornographers, and I want to make it clear that I am doing so from a moral standpoint. These lawyers attempt to extort money from innocent people by threatening them, saying that they will publicly accuse them of downloading pornography illegally, shaming them in the eyes of their friends, family and co-workers. They then commit extortion by offering to make the accusations go away, if the victim would only hand over several thousand dollars. They use the shame of pornography to their advantage, even though they work for pornographers! They never bring cases to trial because they know they are fruitless. Fear, despair, shame and rage are the tools of their trade. Anyone with a conscience should feel the need to do something, and if you meet this criterion, I beg you to read on (and check out my Open Letter and other pages).

I do not care about any attorney’s code of conduct or their commonly held belief that a lawyer can be a good person who was caught up in a bad job. The way that we make a living says everything about the type of person we are. There is a reason that Jesus wasn’t a pharisee or a money changer, but rather a carpenter (or, literally in the Greek, a techne). Smearing your innocent victims with the stain of pornography is more than a bad career choice, it’s really a sin of the highest order. These Copyright Trolls are bad people, but that doesn’t mean they can’t change their ways and become good people if they are only willing to hear me out. It’s up to those of us who want to fight a moral and legal Crusade to get something done about it.

I also want to say that I am writing a series of articles, called “Bible Study With The Troll”, a humorous look at the Bible, Acts of the Apostles and Lives of the Saints through the lens of various legal issues related to Copyright Trolls. These troll lawyers rely on secrecy and flying under the radar. I am going to do everything in my power to get the mainstream media, and more specifically Christian media, on the side of their victims. Jesus himself was pretty good at getting news spread, the last time I checked. I think these articles will help show Christians that this is a cause worth fighting, and quite relevant to issues faced by Christianity throughout history.

I also want to state categorically that I acknowledge there are really compelling legal issues to be taken up here, and my injecting religion into those may leave some coming at this problem from that perspective with a bad taste in their mouth. But we have common cause in protecting the victims of these Copyright Trolls, and there is no need to drive a wedge where none should be, so please bear with me. I also realize that even if most of the victims of Copyright Trolls are innocent, that means that there will be some guilty of downloading pornography illegally who view my articles. It is my sincere hope that by showing them Christianity is a message of forgiveness and redemption, they may change their ways. If they don’t, that’s okay, but sometimes you have to wade into deeper waters if you want to catch the big fish, and for that reason I am inviting them to read my articles as well.
